Winery Review: Our Desiree Chocolate Dessert Wine is crafted in a rich, tawny port style with heady, dark fruit and enticing chocolate character. On the nose, chocolate, vanilla and coconut aromas swirl around a rich fruit core, spilling forward through the senses and across the palate. Seductive and smooth, this wine borrows its name from the deep emotion it elicits: desire.
My Review: I was soo excited to try this wine because I love chocolate, and specifically dark chocolate. When the wine was poured it looked like liquid chocolate, it was a light brown. On the nose all I could get was alcohol and chocolate. When I tasted it, I was seriously disappointed. I did not like it at all. The sugar all hit your tongue at once and then the alcohol and I could hardly taste the chocolate. But considering it was a port, it makes sense the alcohol is so high. I didn't like this unbalanced wine. About the only think I liked was the bottle.
